Nikon Coolpix L820 camera operation and review

Good day! I would like to dedicate my 100th anniversary review to the Nikon L820 camera! After all, I almost always take photos for reviews on this camera. Its price in 2013 was 2000 hryvnias together with a bag and a memory card. I bought it because at that time I still didn't really know how to take pictures on a DSLR and I didn't want to take it on a trip because of the size.

In general, the choice fell on him because of his small size and his characteristics. It is VERY EASY to hold it in your hand. My younger brother (now he is 8 years old) learned to take pictures with this particular camera. The kit includes a USB cord, a strap and a lid with a drawstring. It is very wonderful that it is with a shoelace, because there is no hole for a shoelace on another camera and I worry all the time that I will lose the lid. You can also shoot videos. I was filming a children's matinee. All the parents for some reason refused the operator and I decided to shoot my brother myself. I edited the video in the film studio and everyone liked it. They asked me to shoot it next year as well, but I already lived in another city. I recommend the Nikon L820 photo app if you want a compact camera that takes high-quality pictures. I agree that the Nikon L820 is intermediate: between a soap dish and a DSLR, and it is also more of a family type.

When the question arose about buying a camera, I began to think about what I should buy with the money that I was ready to spend. What is better for me - a simple amateur DSLR or a soap dish, but high-quality and with a good lens?

After thinking about it, I realized that I needed a camera for everyday use, so that it was light and compact, so that it could always be taken with me. As a result, I acquired this miracle - Nikon coolpix. It is lightweight and very comfortable to hold in your hand.

The only negative for me is the lack of manual configuration. But there are many different modes, which for many who do not want to bother with the settings, will be an undoubted plus.

List of modes: Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night portrait, Holiday/Indoor, Beach, Snow, Sunset, Twilight/Dawn, night landscape, macro, Food, Museum, fireworks, black and white copy, rear lighting, simple panorama, pet portrait, 3D photography. In general - for all occasions.

I will definitely add a review to show other modes in action.

In general, Nikon coolpix L820 is suitable for amateur photographers who want to take high-quality bright photos in everyday life. It is convenient, it is easy to always take it with you. It is easy to handle.

Today my review will be dedicated to the Nikon Coolpixs L820 digital camera. In the now distant 2012, I caught fire with the idea of photographing. We went to the store and decided that a digital camera would be enough for me for the first time, although at that time I would not be able to distinguish between a DSLR and a digital camera at all. My happiness cost us about 15,000 rubles, along with a bag and a charger. I was absolutely delighted with the picture quality, all kinds of camera functions and the possibility of macro shooting. As practice has shown, all these gadgets like "Portrait", "Shooting in motion", "Fireworks", "Snow", etc., turned out to be completely unnecessary. To this day, I only use macro mode.I think it's pointless to insert the characteristics of this device, anyone who wants to look on the Internet. About a year later, my desire to photograph disappeared and Nikon was just a family camera that helps out on many holidays. So he would have been lying idle, but in the winter of this year it occurred to me that I needed to take pictures. This time I took this issue more seriously. I created a group in the social network, made a contest for free photography and people went. I got excited about this case and I'm still taking photos to this day. Slowly mastering Photoshop CS6 and the subtleties of photography. In the near future I plan to switch to a SLR camera. Still, I think that my Nikon L820 has outlived itself and I have outgrown it. Do I recommend this camera? Of course, it is for those who do not want to bother with detailed settings and likes to take pictures on the machine. As a family camera, it's perfect.

I admit that I have been dreaming about buying a camera for a long time. The only thing that stopped me was that I couldn't figure out exactly what I needed. A DSLR? But it is unlikely that I will master it at such a level as I need. And I just didn't want to buy an expensive toy. In addition, sometimes you just want to take pictures in the "auto" mode and at the same time get nice high-quality pictures.

In general, we will weigh all the pros and cons, after consulting with friends and shoveling the Internet and stores on the range provided, I chose this model. And I haven't been disappointed yet.

So, before I tell you about my impressions, I suggest you familiarize yourself with the main characteristics:

The 30x zoom allows you to shoot remote objects perfectly. At the same time, the images are not blurred.
The number of megapixels is 16, it seems, so far the maximum for cameras of this type. The resolution of the images is 4608x3456.
Shooting video in full HD format is enabled by a separate button on the camera panel. The videos are high-quality and not blurry, the sound does not lag behind the video.
The camera control menu is very simple, all the buttons are placed on the panel. Zoom adjustment is on the lens. The display is quite large and bright, the diagonal is 7.5 cm. The weight is 470 grams, quite heavy after the previous models.
Auto ISO photosensitivity: 125-3200.
The release date of this model is 2013.

First of all, when choosing, it is worth paying attention to the fact that this camera model gives little opportunity for creativity due to the lack of manual mode settings. That is, this is an option for lazy people, but at the same time inclined to photograph every little thing.

After all, it is the quality of the photo here that pleases, various auto-programs allow you to get interesting pictures and capture wonderful moments forever.

I recommend the camera with both hands! An excellent budget camera that will always be your assistant and friend on trips, excursions and on various holidays. More joyful moments for you and, as a result, bright and memorable photos!

Good day! I bought a Nikon L820 camera about a year ago. All this time he has been serving me faithfully. I like to take beautiful photos, take them to print and make albums. And with such a camera, any photo becomes beautiful. Of course, this is not a DSLR or a professional camera. But, he takes great pictures. I don't see any point in showing his appearance in the photo. Take a better look at its capabilities. I'll tell you a little about it: 16 MP, 30x zoom. It has the following shooting modes: macro, portrait, night portrait, landscape, sport, night landscape, sunset, dawn, pet portrait, museum, holiday, beach, snow, panorama and 3D. The video quality is good. The flash is very bright. If you are in pitch darkness with him, the flash will take pictures as if there is light around. Do you want to take a picture, and it's already dark? It doesn't matter! Open the flash and your portrait will be bright and colorful. With minimal photo processing skills and this device, you will be able to take great pictures!

Of course, he also has glitches. Nothing lasts forever, as they say, but I suspect it's because of the memory card, and the camera has nothing to do with it. It happens that he refuses to take pictures in the cold. It just doesn't turn on and that's it. Sometimes it just freezes a little. But, as I said, maybe the problem is in the map.

To sum up: if you like beautiful pictures, look for a good and inexpensive camera - it suits you. I hope my review was useful to you. Save all the highlights of your life with a great camera!

I spent two years with this camera, for better or for worse, and I can definitely say. that it is great for its price category! Bright and clear pictures, large zoom, light sensitivity is better than most similar models. Suitable for anyone who is interested in shooting at an amateur level. No complicated settings, no knowledge you will not need. Just click on the button and the picture is ready.

Good afternoon, to all lovers of photography.

Nikon L820 is a great camera for life. If you need to photograph children, a wedding, the first of September, New Year, christening, landscapes, bugs, flowers and just funny moments, then this is exactly the option that will make good clear pictures.

Not every flash drive is supported by Nikon Coolpix L820

This camera supports SD, SDHC, SDXC flash cards

For example:

Transcend SD SDHC 32GB
Sandisk Extreme 32GB
Kingston SDHC 16GB

I bought a Kingston flash drive especially for this device

Powered by 4 finger batteries or accumulators

I will not write about each mode separately, the camera needs to be adjusted for itself. It happens that the landscape turns out well on the MACRO mode. A lot depends on the photographer himself.

All photos were taken without processing. Occasionally, if it's completely cloudy and gray, I add saturation. No improvement in clarity or increase in contrast is required.

For example, I don't need a DSLR. Not yet, anyway. I don't do photography seriously, even though I love it. On this camera, if desired, you can learn how to shoot.

Despite the rather big size, the camera is quite light. Usability is a matter of habit. At first, it was not convenient for me. Now I'm taking pictures with one hand and not straining.

After this device, I don't want to take pictures on the soap dish anymore, in the chain.

My dream is staged photos, there are even some ideas. There's no fucking time! But, I think, as soon as the opportunity arises, this camera will not let me down.

Today I will tell you a story about a foreign camera, its name is Nikon Coolpix L820. I bought this camera as a gift to my girlfriend in 2013. Four years have passed, and the camera continues to please my wife and me now with the same excellent quality of shooting. A sixteen-megapixel matrix makes super photos with a maximum size of 4608x3456 pixels, and a thirty-fold optical zoom can compete with some semi-professional binoculars. The video quality is also at a high level, with a height of 1920 and a width of 1080 pixels, which allows you to watch the footage on a 107" TV without noticing pixelation at all. There is a fairly good macro shooting mode, although I use it extremely rarely, I could not help but appreciate it. I really like the self-timer mode, it helps out a lot on vacation, with the help of a regular selfie, a lot of beautiful background will not fit, especially if there are two in the photo. He also survived the desert fine sand, the lens was a little naughty for a couple of days and continued to work. And sea spray during a small storm. And falling off the table, but the truth is on the laminate, as a result of which the battery compartment cover stopped closing tightly, which does not affect the operation of the device in any way.
A fairly simple control interface, just a few buttons for a large number of different shooting modes.

Comfortable rubber pads allow you to hold the camera firmly even with wet hands. And a strong neck band will not allow him to fall even in extreme situations. The only disadvantage of this technique is the lack of a battery. I had to buy myself a set of four finger batteries with a capacity of 2700 mAh and a charger. In general, I have been content with buying for four years, I hope it will last the same amount. Take care of your equipment, do not skimp on a protective bag and you will be happy.

We bought a camera in November 2013. Our requirements were unassuming. An ordinary soap dish, the main thing is that it is durable and easy to operate. As a result, it turned out that it was not easy at all. We still can't really figure out the settings. Maybe, of course, when we finally succeed, I will have a higher opinion of this model. Clear photos are obtained every other time, and since we are quite amateurs in photography, of course, we do not know what parameters should be set. So if you are a "kettle" and you need a camera purely for "clicked-got a photo", it's better to take a smartphone with a camera.

I can't find fault with the quality of the photo, but it's still necessary for the frame to turn out. There are many interesting shooting modes. In general, for me personally, all its many advantages are crossed out by the setting. Although again, I repeat, maybe my hands are growing out of the wrong place.

Last year I had a lot of trips, both for work and personal. Therefore, I decided to buy an inexpensive budget camera, so as not to burden myself with a relatively heavy "DSLR". After reading reviews on the Internet, I stopped at the Nikon camera of the Coolpix D820 model. The reviews were mostly positive, so I decided to buy this soap dish without thinking for a long time. Nikon Coolpix D820 – although it looks like a DSLR, but the camera is a real soap dish. However, the soap dish is very high-quality, the photos turn out to be really good display quality, especially against the background of other budget "soap dishes". Also a significant plus, this is a good zoom of the camera, an increase in photo and video shooting up to 30. It is also very convenient to take the camera with you on trips, since it weighs relatively little, it is conveniently held in your hands or around your neck. Of the minuses, the camera works only on AA batteries, in the amount of 4 pieces, which of course is enough for 200-350 photos, but I would like more.

On New Year's Eve, my husband gave me a wonderful gift – a Nikon L820 camera. I must say that I had a small Nikon for 5 years before, but recently I clearly lacked it: it took bad pictures in low light, did not transmit small details. And so, I got a camera that I could only dream of. It was unusual for me to use a large camera – the L820 weighs 430 g. It uses 4 alkaline AA batteries, which affect its weight. A memory card is also inserted into the battery compartment. This is a bit inconvenient for me, since the compartment lid closes with effort. I'm afraid to damage it, as it was with my previous camera. We immediately inserted our neck strap into the two ears on the sides, which protects the camera from falling. The lens cap is attached to the camera by a cord.

When shooting the L820, you need to hold the handle on the side. There is a built-in flash on top, which opens with a special button. I quickly appreciated this design – with an automatic flash, you can forget to turn it off in the settings and cause inconvenience to the child, for example. And so, I easily take pictures without using a flash. The device has a powerful lens with a 30x zoom, which allows you to zoom in on the subject while staying in place. At the same time, the pictures are of excellent quality.

On the back of the case there is a 3-inch diagonal screen and settings buttons (menu, viewing captured frames, setting shooting modes, turning on video recording and favorite settings around the OK button).

With some differences, the way of working with the new camera turned out to be the same as with the previous one. That's why I mastered it instantly.

Story modes and auto mode

When shooting, you can only use auto mode (as a rule, I do that). At the same time, the camera chooses one of the subjects: portrait, landscape, night portrait, night landscape, macro, rear lighting, other subjects.

There are many more story modes that can be used: Portrait, Night Portrait, Sport, Landscape, Night Landscape, Indoor Celebration , Beach,Snow, Sunset, Twilight/Dawn, Night Landscape, Museum, Fireworks, Macro, Black and White Copy, Rear Lighting, Panorama, Food, Pet Portrait.

The scenes are distinguished by the feature of focusing (continuous or when holding the trigger button in a half-pressed state, in the center of the frame or at infinity), shooting (in some modes, the camera takes pictures after recognizing the object without pressing the shutter), using digital zoom and flash

Learn more about some modes:

Sport. The camera continuously focuses on the area in the center of the frame. When the trigger button is fully pressed, up to 6 images are captured. I sometimes set this mode when I photograph a child (sometimes a cat) who is in constant motion.

Landscape. Focusing occurs when holding the trigger button in the half-pressed state.

Macro. The zoom is automatically moved to the nearest possible position. The camera focuses constantly on the area in the center of the frame (if necessary, focus is disabled).

I use this mode very often to shoot small objects, sometimes a cat. In macro photography, the camera conveys details very clearly.

Portrait of a pet. The camera recognizes the muzzle itself and takes a photo after focusing. The muzzle is recognized if it is in a certain position. An interesting mode, but I prefer to photograph the cat in other ways.

However, the camera does not have manual shutter speed/aperture/focus settings. Shooting takes place only in automatic modes, so it will not suit people engaged in professional photography.

Thus, it is ideal for home photo and video shooting, traveling. With a small price and ease of use, we get wonderful photos that preserve memorable moments.

During the year of operation, the camera took a lot of photos and videos. The video, by the way, is of good quality. We sent it to our relatives living far away. I really like macro (my favorite mode in the camera).

Someone wrote that this camera is intermediate between soap dishes and mirrors.Indeed, the process of photographing fascinated me, and I would like to buy a SLR camera in the near future, and definitely a Nikon company.

Nikon Coolpix L820 can not be attributed to professional and even semi-professional cameras. This is a high-quality soap dish, just bigger in size and with a pretty good (but not perfect) 30x zoom. The camera has a matrix of 16 megapixels. I think this is more than enough. The camera menu is convenient and easy to understand. There are a lot of shooting modes, but I shoot in auto mode more often. The color reproduction is natural, which made me very happy, because for example my Canon IXUS 220 HS distorts colors. The video quality is very decent, even at night. Nikon Coolpix L820 does not shoot perfectly at night. In the "Night Shooting" mode, the photos are clear every other time. But still, this camera copes with night shooting better than my two previous cameras. To make the photos clear at night, you need to use a tripod. I use a tripod very rarely and mostly take it off my hands. And it is almost impossible to stand still, so clarity suffers from this.

It's time to change the camera. I wanted something above average in quality. A friend recommended a Nikon Coolpix L 820 camera and was right. The company is not well-known, so it did not immediately inspire confidence, but after looking at the equipment in operation, I was surprised and could not even believe that for such money you can buy something of excellent quality. That's what it means not to pay for the brand.

Although the camera is semi-professional, it did not take long to understand it, it is very simple in settings. The photos are simply awesome, very clear, bright, saturated, 16 megapixels and 30x zoom affect. I found only one drawback, he does not grasp objects in motion well. Photos look better on the camera itself than on the computer.
