The Canon EOS M camera is a great alternative to a DSLR. Lightweight, handy, simple, great quality!
I have long talked my husband into taking a DSLR, but he categorically refused because of their size and weight! He said that the first time we would use it, and then take a regular "point-and-shoot" so as not to drag a big camera with all the lenses and other attachments. Then I heard about digital cameras with interchangeable optics. They are lighter and their quality is not inferior to DSLRs in the same category. We have been using them for a year already and we do not regret about our choice. We have considered Sony and other analogues, but settled on the CANON EOS M kit (EF-M 18-55mm+90EX). Because for us Canon is already a proven company, even though they are not the first who started to produce compact cameras with interchangeable optics, but I am glad that they also released this.
Canon EOS M camera has advantages:
Shoots well even without a flash in low light conditions;
All that there are modes went for a treat, you can manually wizard in the "creative automatic" mode, you can trust the intelligent mode;
Video is also great;
Thinks quickly, although it depends on the memory card, too;
Very easy to use, easy menu, buttons;
I do not have to charge often;
Of course, the weight and size. I ordered a handy carrying case on fotoloid.ru, it's a pleasure to wear;
I can bring the focus by touching my finger to the screen, it is very convenient. The screen is touch screen, and that is a big plus.
Now the downsides of the Canon EOS M. I had a little trouble with the flash: here it is removable, always wear it makes no sense, a year we needed it a couple of times, no more. But, either we have some kind of bug with it, or it should be, but the camera takes a long time to think when you turn on the flash. I have not dealt with this problem and do not want, because we do not need a flash. Night shooting is not leading. That's all I've said.
The bottom line: If you are not a super professional and not a big fan of DSLRs, but you want high-quality photos, then Canon EOS M is your choice. If you can still find this product on sale. When we bought it at svyaznoy, it was in stock in some stores, because it came out a long time ago. It's a great camera. I know I may not agree with you but it is the best camera I have ever used including Canon DSLRs because of its small size and ease of use this model wins in my opinion. And if you compare it to Samsung, Nikon and Sony with the same features, then Canon wins in price, appearance, quality of the device itself and usability. Well, and finally about beauty - the white body looks very nice. And the lens is black. Unusual. I will not add photos, the previous review did their best.
Now the disadvantages of the Canon EOS M - a compact digital camera with an interchangeable lens. I'm quite surprised that this product has not yet reviews, it's not new and the performance is very good. I'm not one of those people who dreams about a DSLR and a new profession, I know my hands and my imagination, nothing useful would have come out of me. So we were looking for a light, simple, small or disassembled camera and do not disdain the "outdated" as they say now digital. Budget was not rich, and we must say it was gathering dust on our shelf probably more than a month, until a professional acquaintance in the field of photography and video has not finally identified us with a brand, saying: "Why bother with it, take Canon, they have all good quality, at least, for your needs". That's what we did. I'm not a pro, I do not know what qualities should be compared with similar products, I will say that the device is simple and understandable, the rest you can evaluate looking at the pictures.
