Canon EOS 77D EF-S 18-55 IS STM Kit SLR Camera - review
Canon EOS 77D EF-S 18-55 IS STM Kit SLR Camera - review |
When you really like to take pictures, it's hard to limit yourself to a smartphone camera, no matter how cool it is.
I bought a Canon 77D to replace my old Canon 650D, which served me for 6 years. I take a lot of shots every day, as well as shoot videos on a DSLR. Therefore, I can't imagine life without a camera. In all the reviews that I write, perhaps, apart from this, the photos were taken on Canon 77D. I will not focus on the technical characteristics. I will write them to you here, but I want to tell you exactly my impression of using the camera.

My new 77D compared to the last camera is just the top of modern technology for me. Finally, manufacturers of mirrors are catching up with the technology of mobile flagships. The ability to transfer captured footage directly from the camera to the phone is simply incredible. Now you don't need a computer or an adapter. Just connect the camera directly to the phone via Wi-Fi and that's it. To be honest, it was problematic for me to take a photo on a 650D, transfer it to a computer, and then through the cord to the phone. A whole special operation. With the Canon 77D, everything became outrageously easy and simple. Now you can quickly view a photo or video on your phone, copy it to the gallery, and you're done. You can publish anywhere. It's so convenient!
Naturally, the photos on the camera are much juicier and cooler, they look more professional than those taken on a smartphone. Agree, neither the iPhone 12 Pro nor the Samsung S21 Ultra will surpass the quality of photos taken with a professional camera.
The rotary screen is not a whim for me, but a necessity, because I often shoot myself. What it is is a big and fat plus in the Canon 77D piggy bank. The screen is bright, touch-sensitive. The sensor works perfectly. I am also pleased that you can shoot remotely via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth using the Camera Connect app. Thus, your smartphone becomes a remote control) It's mega-convenient.
Autofocus in Live View mode (by clicking on the screen) works fine in video mode, the camera monitors the selected object itself.
Autofocus is nimble, which is very pleasing. I use my Canon 77D camera with a high-power macro lens EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM.
All buttons and levers work properly. I like the build quality of the camera itself - everything is tight, nothing is backlash. Not once in 8 months has the camera failed me.
Wanting to upgrade my old camera, I chose between the Canon 80D and 77D models. The characteristics are almost the same, only in the 80D the battery capacity is larger and there is moisture protection, but the camera itself, of course, is heavier. And the price of 77D is 15 thousand less. I shoot mainly at home with a DSLR, subject shooting, nail video shooting, so the battery capacity and moisture protection were unimportant for me (I can always recharge on time, well, moisture at home, of course, is not threatened if the shooting is not in the bathroom. And saving 15 thousand was much more relevant to me. Otherwise, these two mirrors are identical.
As a result: the photos are of excellent quality, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities are also pleasing, the 77D video shoots very cool, not too heavy in weight, which is important. A great camera for amateurs.
Everything suits me in this camera. I fell in love with him from the first shoot. This is my most important assistant in creating beautiful reviews. You can also see examples of photos for this camera in my reviews.
