Batteries, there are two of them here, are externally identical to AA batteries, but it is better to use them, since batteries are usually not enough for a long time. The compartment for them is on the right.
There is also a slot for an SD memory card (such a big one). And above all this "ugliness" there is a service connector for a USB wire, but I usually avoid such moments. It is much easier to pull out the memory card and insert it directly into a laptop or card reader if you have a PC with a system system, and there is usually no slot there. And there is also something like a 3.5 mm connector.
Why did I have to give up this camera?
The fact is that in the last year of my use of it, the matrix deteriorated. Pictures on the street came out illuminated, and indoors - striped. From the outside, it looked terrible, and there were no such pictures left, there is nothing to clog the laptop's hard drive with them, there is usually so little space there. Replacing the matrix is an expensive thing, it's easier to change the camera.

I probably would have continued to use it until now, but a camera without a matrix is like a fish without water, so there is no other way out

The build quality is also on top. Well, another important factor is that there are enough batteries for 200-300 photos, batteries in general for 300-400 photos. In general, a good camera to start with - I recommend it!
The retractable lens jams, once it jammed for half a year, then it resurrected. I wouldn't have bought this camera myself, but I got it as a prize in a drawing contest back in 2007. It was my first digital soap dish. At first there were no complaints about the work of the camera, but then, after about 1000 frames, jamming began, I didn't use it so often at all. He began to focus slowly. Then slowly the lens began to jam, but it was closing. In the summer of 2011, during a vacation at the sea, the lens moved out, I was just going to take a picture. and on the screen I saw the inscription "Lens error" it was about 1300 frames in total. Turned off, turned on - the same thing, and so on until the end of the ride. Then in the fall I turned it on and, oh, a miracle, it came to life, after that I took 500 more pictures and realized that it was unbearable to enjoy them, because the button for the picture began to run, the camera focused, the flash lit up, and the picture did not happen, and it focused for 5 Sad seconds, Plus the lens occasionally did not move ("Lens Error"). I got tired of it and got rid of it in 2013. The only plus is the ability to use "finger" batteries.
Simple and reliable Canon. I have been using the device for about 2 years. Quite satisfied. On GP 2100 accumulators at sea, I shot about 400 frames + videos for a week without recharging. The video takes a size of 640*480. There are plenty of settings in the camera: exposure, white balance, ISO 80-400, manual and super-macro modes, self-timer for any time, effects and more. Some may say that 5 MP is not enough. But it is quite enough for me: for recording on CD with viewing on DVD, for viewing on a 19" monitor, this is quite enough. A convenient and reliable camera. I can't not tell you about this camera. I have been buying Canon A-460 for quite a long time, but even now it remains fully functional and functional. Currently, I no longer use it, as I have acquired a more powerful technique, but I have the warmest memories associated with this camera. You can shoot both by focusing on the liquid crystal screen, and through the window with your eye, as on old film cameras. The optical zoom is only 5x, but the digital zoom is much larger. However, when using it, the increase is at the expense of the quality of the image. The functions of the settings menu are very extensive, up to the creation of folders and sorting pictures and videos by them. There are micro and macro shooting modes, manual adjustment, video. The function of printing directly from the camera via the settings menu is especially convenient. To do this, the camera has a special button. No computer is needed, the device is connected directly to the printer. Two batteries, which should be replaced immediately with batteries in order to save money, and a standard flash memory card. There are two types of sockets for connecting to other devices: USB and for a narrow round plug. And the third connector for the TV. All the necessary wires are included. On top of the power button, shutter and speaker. At the bottom there is a socket for mounting a tripod and a section for the battery responsible for the calendar and time. It allows you to save the settings of these when replacing batteries. The video is inferior to the photos in quality, but not much.
