I have been using this camera for a couple years now - no complaints.
It has a lot of different useful shooting functions. For example, portrait shooting, scene mode, shooting landscapes and so on.
The video parameters are HD 720, the TV screen is 640, the number of pixels is 12. The optical zoom is 4x. I like its compact dimensions - it is convenient to carry in a bag everywhere and anywhere! The built-in memory, of course, is small - only 45 MB, but hardly anyone will use it - it's easier to take a memory card with a larger volume, as I did.
By the way, a camera with a touch screen is very convenient. I rarely shoot video on it, but if I do, the quality is quite acceptable for such a compact model. But I am completely satisfied with the photos - they are clear and bright. Especially if you play with the modes.
Nikon Coolpix S4000 is an okay camera. After shopping for a long time my choice fell on Nikon Coolpix S4000 camera. I liked the design and touch screen (I wanted a touch screen).

This camera has a wide range of shooting functions, such as: scene mode (automatically selected by the camera); portrait (used when shooting portraits to highlight the portraitist); landscape shooting (the camera focuses at infinity); sports (to shoot a series of pictures of the object in motion); night portrait (shooting portraits at night, by the way at slow shutter speeds the portrait can be blurred); back lighting (shooting backlit objects without losing the image); museum (shooting in museums); smart portrait (smile) and many more functions.
Video parameters- HD 720, Screen TV 640, and small size 320.
In general, a good photographer, I have one problem with it: immediately when turning on the video does not shoot, writes not read the card...after a minute or so everything becomes normal. I was told in the salon that the card is a nonsense, but so everything is fine.
Nikon Coolpix S4000 is convenient, high-quality and inexpensive. We chose a digital camera costing about 4000 rubles for family use. After reading reviews the choice fell on Nikon Coolpix S4000. about it really came across and negative reviews, allegedly poor quality of pictures. At first, of course, was also not delighted, but a little "wiggled" with the settings all became in its place. My relatives have a Canon Digital IXUS 70, so Nikon has a much better picture quality. The pictures are very bright and clear. Video has several modes, up to full HD, the only thing is limited recording time, the higher the quality, the less recording time, but nothing prevents you from making several clips, on the computer they can be "glued". The camera is very convenient to use, it is light, small, easy to hold in your hands, you can charge the battery from USB, it is incidentally enough for a long time. Memory card we put on 4 GB, on vacation was enough for the eyes. The touch screen takes a little getting used to, but now you can't imagine how you used to do without it (we immediately covered it with a protective film). The only disadvantage of this camera is a little "brooding", but maybe we did not fully understand the settings. So I recommend Nikon Coolpix S4000 to anyone who needs an inexpensive, small camera for everyday use.
