Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX5

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX5 is an ambiguous model.

I'll start with the fact that 2 years ago I came to buy a soap dish for myself - to photograph walks, my friends, animals and notes) Since I am not strong in technology, I was guided by the reviews and recommendations of the seller. The reviews for this camera are not bad, they evaluate it everywhere for a four. The seller gave me a photo in the store and praised the model in every possible way (besides, it seemed to go even at a markdown).

Here are the main features:

Total number of pixels - 12.8 million
Physical size - 1/2.3"
The maximum resolution is 4000 x 3000
Sensitivity - 125 - 3200 ISO, Auto ISO
Flash - built-in, up to 10 m, red-eye suppression

In general, all this can be read on the same Yandex-market. And I will tell you about my experience. First of all, about the good. The camera takes great juicy pictures, it has a wonderful color reproduction. In poor lighting, the photos are still high-quality. The video is at a decent level. Macro photography is great (the only thing is that it cannot be turned on forcibly - the camera will determine whether a macro mode is needed or not). Panoramas are his specialty. See my examples. That is, for travelers and nature lovers - super. In addition, there is a skin improvement mode. The effect of Photoshop without processing on a PC is 5+. However, the blurring is visible up close. But in general, it makes a peach even from problematic skin, seriously. Here is a fragment of the photo. But how it distorts people, animals and objects at close range! It is at the edges that this effect is observed and there is almost nothing you can do about it. Saves a little bit of approximation (I read the advice on the web), but this is not a panacea. Some flattened faces or elongated objects are obtained. From an average distance it is tolerable, up close it is a nightmare. Look at a fragment of a photo from a cafe, with a teapot and cups (cut out the lower right corner). And it happens that the faces, arms, and legs are also stretched. Cats turn out to be gremlins with huge ears.

Another disadvantage is charging, which is enough for a very short time. So when traveling, you need to recharge forever. Or buy a replacement battery.

The interface is normal, although I would not recommend such a camera to people of age who are not very friendly with technology, because there are a lot of secondary options. Everything was clearer on my old Olympus.

In general, I understand that you can't buy a perfect camera for that kind of money. But still, if there were no distortions, it would be a great camera.
