Canon EOS 30D KIT EF-S 17-85mm - review

A lot of stones were thrown into the garden of Sony cameras. And all about that - Sony SLR cameras have the noisiest matrix of all the matrices that only exist on our market. But this is nothing more than outright nonsense and wiring for ordinary people.

There can't be a Japanese brand better or worse. And the noise in the photo depends only on the capabilities and size of the matrix, but not on the brand. Nikon is now produced, in general, only in Thailand (except for professional cameras, of course) and for some reason we do not shout that this harms the quality of cameras. For all the time I have been working in the field of videography and photography, I have compared a lot and realized that Sony is the best cameras both in terms of naturalness of color and sharpness, and it comes out already and in terms of noise and many other reasons. But it was a small digression.

In 2006, I bought myself an advanced-level camera in a magnesium alloy Canon Eos 30 D, with the much-vaunted SMOS matrix. I bought into the size and durable magnesium alloy case, in general, in appearance and in advertising. But according to the appearance, advertising, as you know, is judged by people who are very far from photography.

Advantages and disadvantages of this camera.

Dignities:

1. Relatively good color rendering at that time. There is a ratro in colors, as from the cameras Fed, Sharp-sighted, Vilia. It should be noted that all Canon cameras have identical color reproduction and, I must say, not bad. Again, it depends on the lens, and not on super hands, as everyone here likes to say.

The weight and type of camera (something that can pass you off as semi-professional, like I'm fabulously rich and cool at that time in 2006.) It's not for nothing that they say they meet by clothes.

3. The carcass is made in Japan.

Disadvantages:

1. The noisiest matrix, of all the Sapop cameras that I have ever had. Even some advanced Canon soap dishes gave me a less deplorable picture of the noise. The camera is afraid of the dark, noises cover hands, feet, face, hair and any dark areas (walls, cabinets, etc.) and this is very harmful to photography and I will notice it at any ISO. And to sit in Photoshop and process 100 photos from the camera for such a price, there is not always time, desire-it is easier to delete them.

2. The focus is terribly smeared, photos from a tripod turn out better, but this is not a plus for an advanced DSLR. But when the camera focuses for a long time and can't do it, I'm already starting to be afraid that my carcass has broken again.

3. I changed the shutter twice, even the magnesium, heaped carcass did not save from breakage. The mirror slams loudly, maybe this is the frequent reasons for the camera failure, manufacturers mock us, why so much noise, for pathos? Once I wanted to take a picture of birds, but this sound scared even them and the frame turned out to be smeared. Why is there so much thunder out of the clear sky so that the whole city can hear a pro come out on the street? Is this Marketing?

4. The matrix has to be constantly blown with a pear, collects dust like a dust collector, the magnesium case is not as dust-and-moisture protected as it looks. In this, Nikon cameras, even at the entry level, surpassed the competitor. But it's better not to compare with Nikon, even junior-level cameras there are devoid of noise, but I've always been confused by the inscription on their cameras - Made in Thailand. But as you can see, everything can break.

6. 8 megapixels do not give normal sharpness, detail. The photo turns out to be slightly blurry, soapy, unnatural. In modern times, this is especially noticeable in photos with cameras with 18-24 MP. Still, no matter what photographers say, detail is very important when shooting landscapes, when every moment in the photo is important (drawing blades of grass, pebbles under water, thickness and structure of ice, especially when you look at a photo on a computer and you want to get as close as possible and consider every invisible new face, especially when you returned from vacations, from where you can't go every day. Maybe that's why all the specialists themselves switched to the F.F. cameras (with a full-frame sensor). I also noticed that the Canon Eos 30 D does not even have the same picture of equal clarity, for example, as the same undeservedly stoned Sony cameras. I do not know what the specialists have messed up in this model, but the camera produces an image even noisier than the Canon eos 300D - the youngest model from Canon. By the way, I had this model, and it still works.

Conclusions:

If you expect super quality in photography from cameras, never look at the camera like a layman (it's bigger, cooler, magnesium alloy, etc.) Before buying it, study its technical characteristics (matrix size, number of megapixels, preferably Live View- life view (see what you're shooting in the process shooting, not after. This is necessary for those who like to experiment with Soviet manual lenses, because with this camera, this experiment will turn into torment, an unnecessary burden for your only eyes, etc.) Maybe, of course, with the lens of the L series, the Canon Eos 30 D camera would sing differently, but sorry, with super glasses the cheapest soap dish, which costs 100 times cheaper than an advanced amateur DSLR, would have sung differently. This is also not a plus for the camera. Indoors, of course, you can use an external flash, but even this does not save half of the photos from the trash-computer basket.

The flash illuminates a certain area, and noises still appear where there is no light coverage, besides, too powerful a flash leads to overexposure of the frame and underexposure in the camera itself does not save. Tellingly, even the super magnesium case did not save the camera from five breakdowns. I have already spent more on repairs than on the camera itself, it was already possible to buy a brand new Nikon. And now it's gathering dust in my closet somewhere. And the other 350 D camera, as a professional's spare camera, despite the plastic case has never been repaired or broken, looks like new and still pleases me with its pictures, 80% lower noise than the 30D. I will not say that all the thirty are bad, maybe I got an unsuccessful copy. But my employees also complained about the furious noises of the Canon EOS 30D even in stripes, but I got over it.

Still, I would like for a very good price at that time, to get a camera better than the entry-level filling, but not worse than it. And then it turns out we pay only for the wrapper, with unimportant contents. I sometimes just think, especially after buying this camera, maybe I underestimate Thailand.

Therefore, I will not dissuade you from buying this camera, draw your own conclusions, like me. Maybe you'll be luckier than me. These cameras are no longer being released, but others may not be any better either. Never get fooled by marketing. I give specifically fragments with noises.

***

Canon EOS 30D is a godsend for a beginner. He came to me by accident, but stayed for a long time. Today I will tell you that you can "squeeze" a good picture out of the dinosaur of all Canon and why I still don't want to part with it.

The Canon EOS 30D is a versatile model for a beginner or enthusiast photographer. This technique is from 2006, it is quite outdated - heavy weight, photo transmission only through a cord, outdated characteristics and settings. BUT! Today this camera gives me good pictures. I doubt that this technique will be good for work, but it is a great option for traveling.

Of the accessories I have nothing but the lens. I don't see the point in buying a new lens or flash, maybe when I please myself with a new camera.

In the kit I received:

The instruction book. Very practical - with pictures and description

Lithium-ion battery

CB-5L Charger

Cable

Neck strap

There is no video. But there is a Timer. Therefore, there is an opportunity to take a selfie.

There is a Flash, but it can be turned off. For me, the shooting speed is normal - 5 frames./sec.

The battery lasts for 750 frames. Once in Chernobyl, my battery really ran out!

The body is metal - hence the weight!

What I like the most!

It's comfortable in your hand, there's not much noise! There is a display. Excellent color reproduction of the monitor on the camera. The quality is excellent.

And now I propose to see what I'm photographing Canon EOS 30D.
