Canon PowerShot A4000 IS - Review

The Canon PowerShot A4000 IS is not much different from other budget compact cameras. A very compact camera.

The camera is equipped with a 16 Megapixel CCD architecture sensor, sensitivity range from 100 to 1600 ISO, the lens has 8x magnification. For clearer images the zoom lens is equipped with optical stabilization, the body of the device is made entirely of metal, it is quite small and its weight is only 145 grams. The camera itself has several colors from the manufacturer. The drawback is that holding it in your hands is not comfortable enough, on the surface of the camera there are no ergonomic frills, you have to hold for greater reliability with both hands. On the top edge of the camera is a speaker, microphone, power key, start button and zoom lever. The control buttons on the back side are compact, simple and clear, the display screen is 3 inches. But here are the viewing angles are not very great, so when you tilt down or up the picture on the display loses its clarity, it becomes difficult to distinguish. The horizontal viewing angle is slightly wider, but the picture is also distorted. The case has a USB-connector, combined with audio and video output, which is covered with a rubber cap. At the bottom there is a jack for a tripod, battery compartment, combined with slots for memory cards. It uses a Li-Ion battery, the capacity of which, according to the characteristics should be enough for 175 photoshooting. There is also a memory card for storing footage. The user menu is not organized very functional and not very familiar. The number of buttons on the body is minimal, there is nothing new. You can adjust the shooting to any taste due to the huge choice of parameters. The camera shoots at 25 frames per second and mono. You can not use the optical zoom when shooting, as an alternative there is a 4x digital zoom. Filmed clips in quality leave much to be desired, but the quality of captured photos are quite good. Still, based on the price of the camera, you should not expect from it very bright pictures, there is no amazing transfer of colors. But the photos are clear, thanks to the good work of the optical stabilizer, not blurred, with great detail.

In general, the camera I bought the Canon PowerShot A4000 IS a year ago for 6200, not including flash cards and carrying case. It's very easy to operate, there are no complicated gizmos, everything is very clear and simple. The macro is great, the video is great too, for such a camera is good. What really pleased me is that the microphone is very sensitive and records every sound, down to the last detail. The photos are great when the lighting is good, indoors they are a bit worse of course but still imaging the photos is ok. A pity that the camera does not support optical zoom and focus when shooting video, a little inconvenient, but I've already put up with it. It has different effects, which I use in general very rarely, if so only when there is nothing to do. Outdoors in the summer, for example, it is very good to use the "Superbright" effect, very cool to take pictures of nature with this effect, as everything becomes so bright and pleases the eye with bright, saturated colors. It's a good camera in general, but I wish it had more battery capacity, but I recommend it to everybody.

Canon PowerShot A4000 IS is a very good compact camera. I bought the Canon PowerShot A4000 IS camera a month ago and I am very happy with my purchase. The camera is made in a metal body - 16 Megapixels, with 8x zoom. It comes in black, blue, pink, red and silver body colors. The camera is pleasant to hold, lightweight, only 145 g. The quality of photos are excellent, the photos are bright and clear, even in artificial light. I was especially pleased with the macro mode and the minimum focus distance of 1 cm. I also love the macro mode, the minimum focus distance of 1cm, the quick start-up menu and the large 7.5cm LCD screen, with easy to read tips. Numerous different modes - smart auto mode, portrait, low light mode including special effects - super-bright, slow shutter speed, muted, etc. Also shoots great video in iFrame (HD) format. I haven't found any disadvantages in the Canon PowerShot A4000 IS camera yet.
