Canon PowerShot SX220 HS - loved this camera. My husband and I were looking for a camera to take pictures on vacation. We do not have any special skills to take pictures, so I wanted quality photos and a minimum of fuss.
And this is exactly what the "dummies" need. Great! We set it in auto mode - and shoot everything with one click! Photos are high-quality, sharp, bright, color transfers natural, juicy. Well, of course, if you want to get frozen, then there is a bunch of shooting modes, a lot of interesting functions. Videos are as good as photos. Special joy brings the function "zoom". When you use it, photos and videos do not lose their quality, and the distance at which you can shoot is impressive. In general, look at the photos, they speak for themselves. We have not regretted this purchase for a second.

I don't remember exactly, but I paid more than $8,000 along with a 16Gb memory card. My intuition did not fail me! I am very happy with the camera. For 2 years, it is a constant companion in my travels, and walks. It is easy to use, compact, lots of features and shooting modes, the manual settings are a huge plus. I'm getting the hang of it right now. It's very interesting. The first year, I used the camera for 10% of its true capabilities. Then I decided to take photography more seriously and tried to learn the functions of the camera in detail. And to practice, of course. It turned out to be very exciting. It is not always clear, but I learn, learn the terminology, read relevant articles on the Internet. All for the sake of capturing the beauty that I notice around me. My list of hobbies was thus expanded! Thanks to this camera. I like macro photography; I use the self timer a lot - I take pictures of myself during my trips, everywhere I go. I shoot video in FULL HD - amazing quality. At home I watch it on a very big TV set - it feels like I can see what's on the screen "live".
Canon PowerShot SX220 HS is not a good camera that I bought in 2012. Before that, I had a Canon PowerShot SX120 IS, so I have something to compare it to. I will say right away the 120 had better photo quality. But I bought the new one mainly for the video quality the old one couldn't shine. As a result I have mediocre stills and brilliant video. In fact, the camera can be used as a high-quality video camera. I take mostly reportage photos - to "be", but the quality is the tenth. Picture quality is the worst when taking pictures at maximum zoom. A sharp frame only within the central focusing frame - the edges are terribly blurred. The macro mode gives good pictures even without zooming in. If anyone needs this camera for photos, I don't recommend it. The presence of manual settings allows you to pull the frame from very bad light conditions - this is a very big plus - often use this mode. The flash and the inability to make it not jump out - unpleasant, would have made it built into the body better. The camera has a 240 fps high speed shooting mode and then view it at the normal speed. The HDMI port on the camera allows you to connect the camera to your TV and view your pictures on the big screen for all to see. It cannot be charged by USB, only with an adapter. We take the battery out and put it into the adapter and in 3-4 hours the empty battery is charged and ready to use. The camera itself is very compact, lightweight. When you record video is possible to zoom - the sound of the motor is not very loud on YouTube there are lots of examples. And fullHD video is great.

The camera has many additional features such as speed, night, panning, etc. During the entire period of using it there were no obvious shortcomings. Photos and videos are excellent for this class of camera. From the minuses: my device runs out of battery very quickly, but I can buy an additional battery, it has a weak speaker for watching videos on the camera - I wish the speaker would be louder. In general, for home use is good enough.
Canon PowerShot SX220 HS - worthy so far soapbox. I bought my Canon PowerShot СХ220 when my old Canon started to malfunction and lose quality. Precisely because I already had a Canon, I bought myself a new model of the same brand. The menu in Russian turned out to be a nice surprise, as my old camera had none. The quality of photos and video is very good, I am very satisfied. Videos are saved in .mov format, while I am used to the avi format. Videos are quite heavy, but the quality is definitely better. The camera has a lot of features, one of which particularly suits me - taking pictures of fast moving objects. Since I take pictures mostly of my child who never sits still, this feature is very good for me. It clicks quickly and the photos come out sharp. The significant drawback is the battery. The charge lasts for 1 day of private shooting. But I have another one in stock, so if I go somewhere for the whole day and constantly photograph and shoot, two batteries are enough.

I chose the Canon PowerShot SX220 HS! How happy I was after my purchase. It is just a miracle, not a camera. The photo and video quality is great, just like I wanted, 14x zoom. In addition to that, it has manual settings. It also has all sorts of cool features, like fisheye. I think you can pay more for such a miracle. I don't want to describe it in more detail, as the description is on the internet. However, I would like to add a fly in the ointment to my praise review... the battery drains very quickly. I think this is just the opposite of what I expected from it. So, all recommend this camera, not counting probably professional photographers, because they take pictures with the cool DSLRs, and the camera Canon PowerShot SX220 HS for amateurs, for very big fans of photo and video. The Canon PowerShot SX220 HS is a super camera. Canon PowerShot SX220 HS was purchased in 2012. My first adequate camera, so to speak. As soon as it appeared - immediately began to be actively used. Takes great photos without flash - often used it in the theater, you can see this by looking at one of the attached photos, by the way and the video in the theater were excellent - and the picture and the sound is clear. I still use it to this day, although I don't use it as a camera very often, I use my SLR more. But for video - just an indispensable thing, at least for me. Always take it for walks - just in case. At the moment the problem with the replacement battery - native is almost completely "dead" state, and quality replacement for the native battery so far, and could not find.

After thoroughly reading the forums this camera was included in the list of candidates as one of the best among the point-and-shoot cameras at the time of purchase. In the store the plus side was the non-plastic body and the cheerful color, my color is magenta, I was pleased with the shooting quality compared to other cameras. I love the bright pictures that can be taken with this camera. In daylight and in bright sunlight it is excellent, but indoors you have to try hard to make a good photo without flash. Pleased with a large number of settings, although this may be a disadvantage for some in "auto" mode photos are not bad. The manual settings are a bit cut down compared to what I had in the Olympus, but generally enough for the amateur. I agree with one of the reviews about the fact that due to the shape of the body with one hand to hold it is not very convenient. Despite the small shortcomings, I like my camera.

In general, there is complete freedom for the imagination. For the average person this camera is perfect and will help bring your ideas to life. It has a battery charger that doesn't allow you to charge it from the computer, but it does require you to take the battery out and put it in the charger. It's very tiny with so many settings and features. All in all, it's almost perfect.

In general, this technique is worth its money and is perfect for those who do not want a DSLR, but want quality close to such cameras. It comes with a cable to connect to a computer, a cable to connect to a TV, a charger, a bunch of instructions, two CDs with software and instructions in electronic form. The flash drive wasn't included, but I bought a regular SD for 16 gigabytes and I'm glad I did. Of the minuses - yes, the battery drains quickly. If you film and shoot continuously for 5-7 hours turning the camera on and off. And so I am satisfied with the capacity of the battery. In general, if you have decided to buy this camera - I advise you. If you have not decided, besides this review, read it on the internet, you will definitely want to buy it. I really like the quality of images, clear and high-quality photos. Video, as for a camera, too, excellent quality. When zooming in, the pictures do not lose much definition and quality. This camera has a lot of useful and handy features. I also like the principle of flash, if you do not need it, you can just hold it with your finger. Before buying this model compared to the Canon PowerShot SX230. These models are almost the same, the only difference is that the 230 model has a GPS and the 220 has none. After collecting a lot of information I came to the conclusion that this model does not need and want GPS, but it will strain the battery. So I decided to buy the 220 model. By the way the battery of these models does not last very long. That is why I bought a spare battery with the camera. But most importantly the photos are great. I am very happy with the quality.
I always take my Canon PowerShot SX220 HS with me. Before this camera, I had a super camera Canon PowerShot S70, which unfortunately broke down and now do not produce such, well, I had to go to buy a new camera. I've compared it with a DSLR zoom lens and the PowerShot SX220 HS is not inferior to it, on the contrary, it gets everything sharper. And the zoom is so great that I always have with me a spyglass, you can watch and take pictures or shoot video.

Canon PowerShot SX220 HS - clear quality. Bought this camera two years ago with my husband. It looks as good as new, we couldn't go anywhere without it. Quality is unchanged, it captures the picture clearly even if we sharply move it, it picks up the frame quickly. Photos are not smeared, bright and colorful. This camera also has video and 12.1 mega pixels camera so you can zoom in and out when you are shooting. It has many different functions, you can crop the photo, make red-eye correction, adjust the contrast and much more. I can still use my camera for everything, even if it is not big but it outperforms many other cameras in terms of function. Very handy, comfortable, lightweight. The pictures are great. The battery lasts a long time, charges quickly. We are very happy with our purchase.
