Canon EOS 5D Mark III Camera - reviews

Excellent quality at a reasonable price.

I started my acquaintance with SLR cameras with Canon 20D - since then it has been the way - all Canon photographic equipment. In my hands I held almost all the equipment of this company with indexes X0D and XD. It so happened that I buy almost all the equipment in one place, because I like the service and live nearby - in this regard, I keep track of the assortment and pay attention to what is really interesting to me.

The previous camera, the Canon 5D Mark II, was purchased almost immediately after its release and pleased me for three years with its quality, but only some little things were missing, for example, fast autofocus with a large number of sensors, rate of fire. In general, Canon was a compromise between the 1D reports and the previous Canon 5D model. And it would be even funnier that if they put an autofocus from 1D Mark IV in it, then no one would buy 1Ds Smile

So, I bought a newly released novelty in PIXEL GROUP in May - Canon EOS 5D Mark III - I've been waiting for it for a very long time. The price throughout the market was initially inflated, but then came to its senses. By the way, in this store, this camera appeared first in all of Moscow.

The old "pyadvak" sold for 45 thousand (mileage of 20 thousand shutter actuations). I hung the optics on a new one, the park is 24-70/2.8L, 70-200/2.L and a couple of little things.

Removes perfectly. Autofocus after the "second nickel" is at the highest level. Rate of fire. Support for accessories from the second nickel - the battery pen came in handy. Video shooting has become even better, progress is noticeable.

The only thing that upsets is the offensive on the part of the nikonists - they turned out to have a very good D800, and maybe I would switch to nikon, but where to put all the optics, dust and so on. Now, if the 5D Mark III turned out to be bad, I would have to switch, but I don't see the point. And the store said that there is no fundamental difference - it's like Pepsi and Cola - who likes what Smile

Conclusion - if you already have a fleet of optics and accessories for Canon and the toad does not choke you to lay out 100 thousand for a new nickel - take it unequivocally. For the next three years, you will be calm that you have one of the leading devices in the world.

Today I want to share with you my unforgettable impressions of the professional Canon 5d mark III SLR camera. I'll start in order. About 5 years ago, I suddenly realized that I wanted to do photography and have a semi-professional camera that would produce images that could not only be stored on a hard disk, but also printed and hung on the wall, create gifts, albums, banners, posters, and just process them in Photoshop and Lightroom. Then I was advised a Canon 50 D camera and not knowing what else to fix my eyes on, I bought it and shot and studied on it for 4 years. And everything in it suited me in principle, if not for the day when I happened to pick up the Canon 5 D mark III. that day I shot my next wedding on it and at home, when I was already processing images, I realized that I needed this camera.

I like to shoot outdoors more than in the studio, and therefore I need a camera that would have high ISO values. In order to make it possible to get excellent images at dusk.

It is also impossible not to say about the quality of the images received. Of course, the high quality was influenced by the size of the matrix (it is larger) and the noticeably increased resolution of the image itself.

The shooting angle has become much wider, since the Mark III already uses a normal matrix, not a crop.

The number of focus points has also been added, which has greatly simplified the task of proper focusing.

Also, this camera shoots excellent video, which can then also be edited in professional programs and get excellent results. The battery capacity has also grown, which allows you to record more photos and videos.

Of the minuses, I can only say 2, but I think they will seem funny to you. The first is that the Mark III does not have a built-in flash, and the second is that it weighs a little more than 50 D.

At the moment I continue to work on this technique and I can say with confidence that I have 100% found what I was looking for. Since together with cool lenses, this camera gives an excellent result. I will post a photo that will clearly demonstrate what this technique is capable of.

It was a long time ago, I was shooting with a Canon EOS 60D camera, which my husband gave me for my birthday, it was back in 2011. I type and realize how much time has passed. For 10 whole years.

I figured out the settings in it quickly, I just really wanted to shoot so that the background was blurred into trash, and the front subject was in sharpness and in focus, well, or to achieve beautiful photos.

And his spouse gave him a set of a conditionally budget Canon EF 85 mm f/ 1.8 USM portrait lens, well, I read on the forums before buying that if you want beautiful portraits, then there is no point in a whale lens and you immediately need to take a carcass and a normal lens to it.

Since the camera was with a cropped matrix, I had to go very far, but my friends and I admired the quality and artistry of the picture and at first we all squeaked with delight.

Then, after taking pictures for a while, I realized that the quality would certainly go for Instagram, but the development was over, I squeezed everything I could out of this camera, it couldn't do more and put it up for sale, and as soon as I sold it, I added and bought a brand-new Canon EOS 5 D Mark III.

Having wound my 85-ku on it, I was blown away, firstly, the distance to the object decreased and it became possible to shoot full-length portraits even in the apartment, and half-height ones are so easy at all.

The camera itself certainly gave the feeling that you had touched something professional, its weight was about a kilogram, grip, size, body alloy, all this undoubtedly gave confidence, but the quality of the pictures spoke for itself.

The camera focuses very quickly - really tenacious autofocus, I really always choose only focus on one central point and if I need to, then I'll re-frame, this is my way that I've mastered and it's easier for me than choosing other focus points, especially since the central one always gives perfect sharpness at an open aperture.

At the moment I'm shooting with a gorgeous portrait lens - the dream and legend of all Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM portraitists and almost always shoot at an open aperture of f/1.2; f/1.4; f/1.6.

I don't shoot in the evening, so I don't raise the ISO too high, but sometimes this happens and the detail is really great and there is practically no noise.

I shoot small children and families, I need high-speed serial shooting, because children can't sit in one place, and it's even better when they give out some emotions in the frame and the camera works it out 100%.But on one condition, you must have a memory card with high write and read speeds.For good technology, it is unacceptable to use low-speed memory cards and then blame the camera that they say it does not produce the results that are stated in the technical specifications.

I've had the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for three years now. Before him, all cameras were crop, in particular, there was a Canon 550D with a standard lens. Having played enough with crop and whale lenses, I decided to go for something more serious, because I wanted to shoot something more complicated, I wanted more power, and besides, orders for photography began to arrive, I could not afford to be a commercial photographer with crop and staff.

From the first frames, I saw a striking difference in quality, it was as if horizons that had previously been closed opened up in front of me - the quality allowed me to crop the photo as you like, and from one focal length without loss of quality, you could get both a good landscape and an excellent macro. Twilight, night, dawn - any difficult light conditions, working high ISO.

Optics, light - a huge assortment, no need to buy, I rent for a specific task. I immediately bought a rechargeable pen, because having a car of such quality at hand, you shoot endlessly. The camera itself has rubberized grip points, cannot slip out of my hand, fits comfortably in my small hand, despite the fact that it is quite heavy - almost a kilogram, and the hand does not get tired, even when it is equipped with a flash and a rechargeable pen. Someone wears such a "bandura" with a tripod, I'm comfortable without it, I don't remember getting tired even after hours of shooting.

As I can tell from the previous Canon - these cameras are indestructible. These are real workhorses. Frost, heat, rain, snow, high humidity, sand - there have never been any problems. And, of course, for the best result, it is worth using this machine with good L-series optics. Just try it, you'll like it.

I initially chose between Nikon B800 and Canon 5D mark III.

And still settled on the Canon 5D mark III. According to the tests, he declares himself better. They write that Canon's picture is a little red, while Nikon's is green. Who doubts - this fact is really real. Before Canon, I just used the Nikon D3200, so I know firsthand about the green Nikon picture.

Among the advantages of this camera model it is worth noting:

- the strength and material of the case are really made with conscience;

- convenience of button arrangement (camera control);

- fast operation of the system;

- simple and intuitive menu;

- a sufficient number of MP (more is not needed for those who do not print huge posters, who are chasing a large resolution);

- there are many functions that you learn already with practice, you never stop finding something new for yourself.

Among the disadvantages of this camera model, it is worth noting:

- high price;

- weight;

- useless native Digital Photo Professional software (for example, Nikon's native program for photo processing is Capture NX, it is very convenient to use, sometimes this program alone is enough for professional retouching of wedding photography.

I want to note that you should switch to this camera model only consciously, having already a good knowledge base, experience behind you, as well as clearly understanding why you need a camera of this level.
