So, Canon had to make an attempt already, just to catch up with them. The Canon R camera, which entered the market, was quite interesting and many Canon fans, who had been waiting for such a step from them for a long time, rushed to purchase this camera. I also did this, because I've been hooked on Canon for a long time and switching to another brand often brings some stress.

The camera turned out to be pretty good, except for minor nuances. But, everything is better in order. The Canon R camera can even be called cool. Namely, the excellent new Dual Pixel autofocus, which works just magically here. Clear, fast, accurate, very tenacious. The new "by the eyes" mode grabs the target even in very difficult conditions of lack of light, and light in photography, as we know, is the most important quality factor.

Still, a very convenient and very high-quality LCD display, rotatable in all planes and even increased in size to 3.2.

But it's better to remove emotions and show the pros and cons of the camera.

5. Very biting price.

Conclusion: in general, the Canon R is an excellent camera, convenient to use. Giving excellent results in both photos and videos. It would be cheaper, it would be even better.

Canon EOS R is the first mirrorless full-matrix camera from Canon. Now the whole world is switching to mirrorless equipment and now Cfnon is not lagging behind others.

Since I am no longer quite a beginner, I immediately aimed specifically at the R model, and not RP - which has a crop factor and is slightly reduced in capabilities.

The background of the acquisition and why it is.

Initially, I dreamed of changing my Canon 5D Mark II to the fourth nickel, but there was no time frame in this. And then I noticed that many photographers bought R-ku and they like it.

I scored both cameras 4-ku and R-ku in yandex and realized that in a sense, R even wins and wanted it.

Then the cold weather came again and my second nickel began to behave not very well on the street and I remembered that the history of last year repeats itself and something needs to be solved.

Initially I planned to take an installment plan, but it was the installment plan that was not approved anywhere, but only a loan - I am not interested in this option, then it is better to take it immediately for cash, but I did not want to give 150,000 immediately.

And before that, I had previously made this camera for myself in Elena Blinovskaya's marathon of wishes - I set the date on May 14, 2020, but in the end I had this camera on November 26, 2019, half a year faster than my wish was fulfilled.

Before that, I just looked at this camera and thought to replace it someday, but not so soon. Then I made this wish in a marathon and events began to happen that pushed me to make this purchase.

Firstly, it's the fact that my second nickel froze on the street in cold or even cool weather and the shooting could break. It so happened that I went to a master class in another city, and at the first shooting the camera freezes - and it thaws for at least 12 hours. Well, what could be worse? Thanks to one participant, she lent me a second camera.

Secondly, a discount of as much as 20 thousand money appeared on it. And then I thought that this is the best time to buy. And I was right - now the price for it is the same.

Since the camera is new, the adapter for mounting the EF-EOS R came as a gift to the camera in one box. Then they plan to sell it separately, and although they are still bundled for some reason they are already selling it separately, the price is from 7,000 money, depending on the place of purchase.

Therefore, if you were on a full-frame Kenon, you do not need to change the lens, but you can buy from the RF series.

Now there are so many mirrorless ones that are cooler than Kenon. And because I'm used to Canon, it's convenient for me to hold it in my hands, it's just molded. And all the settings inside are familiar, in comparison, when I picked up the Sony mirrorless, I was in some panic, because I didn't understand where to press. Of course, you get used to everything, but I'd rather stay with the good old Canon, in which everything is simple and familiar.

The carcass itself, an adapter adapter for EF lenses, a strap, one battery, a charger, a wire for HDMI and an instruction book, there seemed to be nothing else.

There is an option of a kit with a lens, but it is worth buying only if you really need this whale lens 24 - 105 F/4, because you will pay an additional 50,000 rubles for it, if you can buy it twice cheaper on avito, but the lens itself is far from the highest quality.

On the left is the camera on/off button. Next, a hot shoe for a flash - all flashes from any manufacturers are also suitable.

Next is a small screen where we see the shooting modes. And buttons for recording video and wheels for setting modes.

Left view. On the side there are connectors for wires under the plug. And although I used it on the last camera, it's not here. Since the SD card does not need a special adapter for a laptop, I take it out of the camera and transfer photos.

Canon EOS R display. It's pivoting. How I missed him, now I can take pictures of myself normally again for reviews. Well, when shooting, of course, it is very convenient, especially since now I shoot it through the screen, and not through the viewfinder. It can be closed to the body and so we will protect it during transportation. I also note that the display is of course touch-sensitive.

The menu is very convenient and logical, everything is easy and simple to find, and I didn't even need instructions to figure out the camera.

What else is cool in comparison with the second nickel.

So this is a WiFi function - I look at top photographers who, during the wedding, transfer photos to the phone, process them in a mobile lightroom and then immediately send them to the young. I looked at it and envied, so this baby has this function!

Firstly, now I don't need a remote control, but only my smartphone and download the CameraConnect application from Canon - the camera screen moves to the phone and I can see what I'm shooting on the camera - when it's not in my hands, and also change the settings.

It's convenient when I'm photographing my hair, and the camera is behind my back - I noted in my phone how to focus, tweaked the settings and got a great frame.

Secondly, of course, transferring photos from the camera to the phone is when you want to quickly and urgently.

Next, shooting in dark rooms. The noise on the second nickel could appear already at ISO 400, and then I shoot at 1000 and everything suits me very well. At 12,000, of course, you can already see the noise, but there's nothing you can do about it.

The detail and sharpness of this baby is simply amazing. When I was on the first shoot, I just gasped with delight, how clear and beautiful everything is! When I took pictures at home for the first time almost on manual mode, he gave out such photos that there was no limit to my delight.

Of course, the detail is slightly inferior to the ringing Sony, but even for professional use, such detail is more than enough, only if you do not want to cut out a microscopic object from a photo and get it in sharpness.

Sometimes I set auto ISO and it gives me an excellent accurate result, which is very gratifying, since the previous camera in automatic mode very much changed the exposure, and here everything is fine with it.

And in order to get a great camera, I didn't have to mess around for a long time, the sources with the right settings are amazing, and I often shoot on auto - ISO.

The color rendering is real, but I adjusted the two-dimensional JPEG a bit and as a result I get a slightly juicier picture and now I don't process additional photos for reviews, but I upload and publish them immediately from the camera. In the last about 10 reviews, the photos were taken on this camera and completely without processing! Of course, I really like this.

General impressions about the Canon EOS R camera.

The camera in my hand lies as if poured in.
Lightweight and comfortable to hold with one hand, and not like a DSLR with only two hands.
The amount of battery is enough for much more than 200 frames, I have enough up to 1000 frames, although I work on the display.
Focus accuracy, there are practically no misses now. I really liked the quality of the image, I'm still eating with delight.
It seems to me that such a camera takes masterpieces by itself.
Of the disadvantages, we can note the crop on 4k video - but I don't use video at all, I have a camera for photos, therefore it doesn't matter.
But be careful when shooting reports, I heard that the laser show immediately burns the matrix.

I fell in love with this camera from the first frame and it's really cool. I recommend buying, mirrorless mirrors are the future. As an inexperienced photographer in this business, I can say that I liked the Canon EOS R camera, of course it's expensive, but in terms of the quality of photos and videos, it's just great. The interface seemed a bit heavy at first, but with proper practice you quickly get used to it. It's comfortable and heavy in my hand. Complete with a good lens, it becomes mega-cool and I think it will satisfy even a capricious pro. The battery holds well, but for a wedding, for example, you need at least one more. As some complain that there is no second-class card, it is not critical for me, the main thing is to use a good memory card. This is a very important point. The camera itself looks solid, especially with a large lens.
