Canon PowerShot SX1 IS - review

The camera shoots great quality video, but it does not always do it. I did not expect that. Full HD 1920x1080 30 fps video.

The Canon PowerShot SX1 IS is not a bad camera for photos, but not for video. I bought this camera a long time ago. And the purchase did not make me very happy. MOV format. But only in great light and on a tripod are the two main rules for this camera. In low light, it is very noisy. When you move the video "floats", which is typical for cameras, but this seems to me it is too pronounced. The slightest movement of your hand distorts the whole picture, or when you turn around too quickly. When shooting video the zoom is very slow so you can't hear it. The sound is two-channel stereo and the quality is normal. It is possible to record comments. If you buy it, you should also stock up on flash drives. Video at high resolution weighs a lot.

About photographs. Again, the lighting. Without flash good pictures from it you can not wait, a little wrong lighting and immediately noise, only with a tripod with a slow shutter speed somehow can improve the quality of pictures. I have to manually tweak everything, maybe something can work. ISO 80-1600. I was not pleased with the quality of photos. The AF light for focusing in darker times is ok. I can adjust it in different ways. It is also convenient to focus yourself, there is a manual adjustment with the wheel. 20x zoom is a must in some cases - it's binoculars! The viewfinder on the Canon PowerShot SX1 IS is electronic, which is quite helpful in the sun. The 2.8 inch display is rotatable, which is also good. By the way, the display is bright and the sun is not bad to see the picture. Very helpful when taking pictures with someone. Or holding the camera above your head. Four finger batteries without using the display lasts a long time (1400 mAh). Two sets were quite enough for me for a whole day of active work. It is comfortable in the hand, the weight is normal with batteries. It also comes with a hood and remote control. The Canon PowerShot SX1 IS is best suited for static landscapes in sunny weather.
