I bought my Canon PowerShot A800 for not much money. You should keep in mind that the price depends on the color of the body. And not only in cameras. Everything that is metallic is more expensive. I have dropped this camera many times. It has scratches all over the body, but the lens and screen are intact. I covered it with sand in Egypt and dropped it in a snowdrift in Siberia. During renovations, I dusted it and dropped concrete crumbs on it. I have spilled wine on it. When I take it somewhere, it stays in my bag without any kind of cover. The camera doesn't care. Simple equipment is the most reliable! Nothing much to malfunction. About the menu: simple, very simple. It has a rather small amount of modes, but you can shoot portraits, landscapes, close-ups of some small details, animals. Night photography is no good, this is a fact. In general, the quality of daytime pictures is much better, you start shooting at dusk, the photos are so dark, as if the night. What is good about "Pets" mode, to be honest, I did not understand. Animals I shoot in AUTO mode, as, by the way, almost everyone. Lazy! In short, the little A800 will suit those who do not like to set the modes on the camera for a long time. I testify that the default on "auto" turns out pretty good. It is powered by two AA batteries, I have a set of four of these that can be recharged. They are enough for a day of intensive shooting, on a trip, for example.

We put it in the microwave and it took four hours to dry in convection mode and 50 degrees. It worked as if nothing had happened, but I immediately suspected that it could be better. I liked the camera immediately. It shot much better video than the Sony, especially in the evening. The flash was also quite powerful compared to Sony. In general, in the evening, it behaved beautifully, which I personally was surprised. It had a speaker, plus the battery lasted a long time (this I then realized and was very happy about this fact. But, most of all pleased - it's mode MACRO. Such a small, and such a great master on macro. But there's one thing, of course, you get amazing macro only with very good light, and even better with sunlight. And since the camera was bought in October, there was not much sun. I will not exaggerate its features - only 10-15 out of 100 shots were chosen. If the light is not enough, it is terribly "noisy. And I also did not like that he made me ugly all the time - all the pimples so marked that the most terrible, pores, the impression that even increases on purpose. And other disgusting things. And he captures nature and people and stuff just fine. Photographs in normal conditions, it is no worse than other more expensive representatives. It's just that even with such a small camera you need to know how and what to adjust. And I didn't really know. Now I had to learn something on the subject, but it's too late. This camera will no longer have the opportunity to perform at its best. It died. My son dropped it from the second tier of the bed with the lens open. It fell right on top of the lens, and it won't open. It's such a shame, you know. I wanted to give it to my son, I trusted him, I taught him how to take pictures. He used to take plasticine cartoons. My husband was silent this time, no strength to scold us, and the sense sense too. Eh! It turns out he worked from October to March. But how many wonderful moments we photographed - my little girl just growing up, cosmetics, perfume and other stuff. In general, if you don't have extra money, or if you have a son like mine who is very creative, then I recommend this camera. It's worth more than it's asking for. And if you don't have problems like I do, then don't suffer - buy a normal camera.
